Herbal Medicine for Deep Rest & Dreaming Workshop
The nervous system forms the living web through which consciousness moves in the body. When that web is strained by stress, overstimulation or exhaustion, our capacity for deep rest, dreaming and symbolic perception begins to narrow. Plants—also conscious beings within the web of life—offer powerful medicine for restoring this inner ecology and reestablishing the conditions for rest and inner listening.
In this workshop, we’ll explore how herbal nervines and dream allies support deep sleep, nervous system resilience and the subtle terrain of dreams. Rooted in vitalist herbalism and informed by modern neuroscience, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, this offering invites a relational approach to plant medicine—one that honors both physiology and spirit.
We’ll examine how the nervous system serves as the gateway to dreaming, shaping our ability to enter deep sleep, linger in REM cycles and recall dream imagery. Together, we’ll work with key herbal nervines and dream-supporting plants, and explore simple medicine-making practices.
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how to work with herbs to support sleep and dream life, along with a renewed appreciation for plants as allies in nervous system nourishment and the unfolding of inner vision.
