Plant Spirit Sister Circle: Black Cohosh & Reclaiming Our Blood Rites

  • Truth Is One - Address given with RSVP Burnsville, NC (map)

The August 4th circle is FULL! Join the waitlist to get notified if space opens up and receive emails about upcoming circles.

Join us in reawakening our wild feminine magic and power as we weave together in re-membrance of our interconnection.

Each time we meet, we’ll begin by communing with a plant ally (often prepared as a tea) in meditative ritual space. Opening this direct line of communication is one of the best ways to learn herbalism and rekindle our ancestral connection to the plants and the earth herself. All plants have a spirit, and most are willing to communicate with us if we are willing to listen!

We’ll continue with a brief exploration of the traditional uses, energetics and biochemistry of the plant we’re communing with, followed by a sharing circle supported by the spirit medicine of the plant. We’ll focus our discussion around topics in the realms of healing ancestral and cultural wounds, resacralizing feminine rites of passage, the intersection of entheogens and the feminine, reclaiming earth-based knowledge and embodying leadership rooted in interconnection.

Our August circle will take place at the Truth Is One sanctuary in Burnsville, where black cohosh (Actaea racemosa), an at-risk native medicinal, grows abundantly in the forest.

With a rich history of traditional use for supporting women through the blood rites of menarche, childbirth and menopause, black cohosh has long been valued by indigenous peoples throughout North America for a wide range of healing purposes.

Black cohosh thrives in old-growth forests and places of high biodiversity—places that, unfortunately, are becoming increasingly scarce. This, along with over-harvesting and slow germination and establishment times, has contributed to black cohosh’s “at-risk” status. (We’ll drink tea made from sustainably cultivated black cohosh roots as we commune with the wild plants.)

We’ll gather on the New Moon and at the commencement of the Truth Is One Women’s Rites of Passage program to journey together with this sacred ally for feminine healing, opening to receive her ancient wisdom codes through the gates of our sensory—and extrasensory—perception. Using the feminine medicine wheel as a framework, we’ll explore what it means to reclaim our blood rites as the sacred and profound turning points they are, and how doing so can reconnect us to our inherent power and embodied wisdom.

Offered by donation, $22-44 suggested. Space is limited. Please RSVP soon to save your spot!

These circles are open to all women—cis, trans & femme folk.
